Parent Education Classes

"Co-Parenting: Two Parents, Two Homes" Parenting Education

The curriculum encompasses topics that include:

- Concluding a relationship

- Mediation and litigation processes

- Grieving, loss, and the healing journey

- Developmental phases of childhood

- Impact of divorce on children

- Communication with children and the co-parent

- Strategies for managing conflict

- Domestic violence, child abuse, and their intersection with divorce

- Legal aspects of divorce

- Cooperative versus parallel parenting approaches

- Designing parenting plans

- Various models of parenting across separate households

- Typical challenges encountered in co-parenting

- Methods for conflict resolution

This curriculum is Virginia Court approved and upon completion, minimum of 4 hours, a Certificate of

Completion will be received. If you have a No Contact/Restraining Order in place with your co-parent you MUST speak with a representative of Child Safety First prior to admission to class to ensure any safety and legal concerns are addressed.

By understanding and effectively managing child behavior and

development, and creating a supportive environment through collaboration and

evidence-based strategies, caregivers can foster children's positive behavior

and overall development. They can thus help children thrive and reach their full potential.
